| Collect all the cleaned pages and scale them to make a thumbnail Book for your dolls. |
Assemble a doll-sized mini book: To the left, is the illustration and hair of a heron. Visitors can collect all the illustrations and verses of the birds “bird children” To print and build a little book of poetry for their dolls. Simply drag each png file. In the Word document, print, cut out all the pictures to the same size and staple the pages together at the left edge. Squeeze some white school glue along the pointed edge of the pages and attach a cardboard cover.
The great blue heron loves to fly,
And so he builds his house high,
The path is in the tops of the tallest trees
Where he lives, happy as you wish.

The Chosen One
Two herons were talking at the zoo. Someone said: “It’s strange that I’m much better than you. At first I’m taller, then my eyes are bigger.”
The other said modestly: “I’m doing very well.”
He went on the first “and my wing”. “How white they are and how beautiful they look when I spread them out in the sunlight.”
The other said, “Appearances aren’t everything.”
“Oh, no, of course; but not only appearance; I am smarter than you in everything. Watch now. The watchman will throw me a fish. Watch me throw it into the air and catch it as it falls, and then hear the children cheering me on.”
The heron caught the fish and threw it into the air. But he was so anxious to see what the children would think of him that it was too late to pick him up again and his brother seized him as he fell.
“Hurray, hurray!” children cried. “The smaller heron is the smartest; he caught the fish that the other threw. Hurray, hurray!”
But this heron only said to the upstart, “I couldn’t care less what the kids thought, but I sure enjoyed that fish.” Henry Altmus Company.
