Hand drawn illustrations for Inktober, suitable for all year round.
Belarusian artist and architect Elena Nes (Елена Нисс) will exhibit some of her work in October 2022.
For those who haven’t discovered it before, it’s a month-long celebration of art. Every day a word is added and all artists in the world have the opportunity to create a graphic describing it. It’s so popular that it now runs all year round. However, October is still the most important month and the month where most of the art and artists stand out.
Many of the drawings created during this moth are usually sketches. Most of the work goes into translating the word associated with that day into an image. An illustration is usually not very complicated and does not include many different details.
Ness shows that she not only wants to draw something that symbolizes the word, but adds story and context to it. Plus… I’ve noticed that all of her work includes a little black cat. I suppose it’s a tribute to her feline little friend?
