Craft a Doll Bathtub From A Recycled Soap Bottle

Posted on

Two little dolls are playing in soap bubbles.

Here is a simple little basin that anyone can make for their dollhouse and you can use real water in it if you like. On the right, Barbie Kelly dolls are playing in real bubbles.

Support list:
  • Reuse a bottle of detergent
  • Silver strapping tape
  • Snap to discharge
  • white school glue
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Beads for pelvic feet
  • Silver and blue spray paint (optional)

Step by step instructions:

  1. Using a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors, cut off the bottom of the detergent bottle. Sometimes there are designs in these bottles that will give you an event cut along a groove in the plastic, but you may need to measure with a sharpie and bathtub side ruler in order to get them all the same height.
  2. Use the tying tape to wrap the top edge of the bathtub so that the sharp edge does not cut the child while playing. You can sand the edges down instead if you don’t have this type of tape.
  3. I spray painted the inside of this doll sample bathtub using bright blue paint to mimic water.
  4. Then use silver or white to spray paint the bathroom’s exterior.
  5. Hot glue three silver beads to make the “feet” of the tub.
  6. Hot glue the silver metal snap into the sink drain stand.
  7. Now you can fill the bathtub with real soapy water to give your little plastic dolls a clean scrub!
