00- Detailed ink drawings- Kerby-Rosanes-www-designstack-co

The intricate ink detailing is what makes this artist’s work so impressive.

Filipino artist Kirby Rosanes is one of the first artists to appear here on DesignStack.

On this page, I have many favorites for different reasons. If I were to list them by categories, you would see the first and second number constantly changing. For example two categories are ‘concept’ and ‘complexity’.

In the first I would put “drab” and “the same Neptune”. both together. In addition to the great execution and the idea of the graphics, they have a watery theme that connects them.

In the second regarding complexity, I would put “Minokawa sun-eating” and “moon-eating Bakunawa”. Both are amazingly complex graphics. Detailed woven ink all over the page leaves very small white areas…and even then, the graphics are crisp. The path of creatures’ bodies can still be clearly traced through all the twists and turns they make.

When people say a piece of art is beautiful it tells us everything and nothing about it. It is the subsections of that term, the individual aspects and adjectives that when added together give us a general appreciation of what we are looking at. Our brain goes through the analysis of all the different aspects, and then gives us a short umbrella term to express it: “beautiful.”
Working backwards and figuring out what makes my mind come to this conclusion, is something that gives me insight into my own mind and an additional appreciation for art.

note. The pictures were given some titles.
