Oil paintings have something special about them.
British artist Glenn Brown has a very personal way of painting portraits. His works look almost like carefully placed strips of paint to create likeness.
He does not strive for a realistic or semi-realistic look. Not least, you can definitely describe them as people. Only when you look at them up close can you tell they don’t present as an ordinary person.
As I said above, there are details missing from what we might refer to as photorealistic images, and there are more details than we will find in the overall picture. Sometimes more than one person shares the same space.
I don’t find Strange interesting in and of itself. There must be more to it than just unfamiliar properties. There is a very thin line that separates weird weird from super weird. This is definitely in the first camp for me.
