Ink drawings with a subtle sprinkling of surrealism.
Russian artist Elena Lemkina now lives and works in Germany. Here’s an excerpt from her site: “She specializes in printmaking, watercolors, ink illustrations, and jewelry layouts.”
There’s a lot I like about Lemkina’s work: Her black-and-white settings. Illustration style and presentation. The antique look and feel of art. Help in a non-simple way by using beautiful and subtle font. Use them specifically for animals and molds. And those fantasy/surreal allusions you get at every turn.
I put all likes into a bullet, as it would take a long time for each one to go through. There is a lot to be said about style that includes many different aspects. Like turning a diamond cut. As you do so, a light shines on a different face…
note. The pictures were given some titles.
