We watched the rain fall
Like tears from heaven
So it seemed that all the world
It couldn’t be more dry!

But while the trees were falling
And all the air was rainy,
The sun pierced through the rainbows
And the day was bright again!

Then my mother said, “Sweet baby,
It’s the same with you-
Your eyes make a rainbow out of your tears
When smiles come!
