Willow pussy
by Esther Hull Doolittle
Oh, pretty pussy willow,
You are something soft and silky,
you live on the side of the road,
And a harbinger of spring
When the world is gloomy,
And the singing birds do not sing,
When the sky is gray and cloudy,
It’s welcome news you’re attending!
