Craft a Clothespin Cathedral Rocker

Posted on

Final rocker, painted green.

For this Barbie doll furniture craft (11 inch), you’ll need to remove the springs from the wooden clothespins before assembling them into the highlighted design with hot glue.

Ensure that the clothespins are clean and free of any residue so that they stick together easily with manual pressure applied. Once the nails are glued into the “cathedral” shaped rocker, allow the glued piece to cure overnight. I understand people use hot glue because they think it hardens instantly but a project like this actually needs time to “set” before it becomes solid. Even hot glue needs to be given time to cure; About 12 hours before painting.

Support list:

  • Wooden clothespins (spring style)
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Acrylic paints (for the surface, any color)
  • Clear acrylic sealer (spray can) to make the paint durable
