Kids can make their own simple sofa, armchair and table below using empty recycled matchboxes. These are sold in large packages at most dollar stores in the United States. They will need 6 matchboxes for the sofa, 4 for the armchair and 3 for the sofa table. I also cut out extra cardboard for the sofa table top to give it a smoother finish so the faux wood shelf paper would stick as well. I also covered the sides of each sofa and chair with the same mantel paper in order to style them after mid-century modern designs. The colors: […]

Make a traditional wooden rocker for a Barbie…
This traditional clothespin rocker is large enough for 10-, 11-, and 12-inch dolls. It is made of spring clothespins. However, the springs must be separated from the wooden parts before hot-gluing them together. You could use wood glue instead, but then you’ll also need small clamps to hold the parts in place while they dry and also loads of patience! Above, you can see that I painted the rocker for the clothespin green after the hot glue let go overnight treatment. On the right I have included two Fashion designers to give readers an idea of size. Check out the […]

A flower is the mysterious counterpart of a child. To the understanding heart, a child is a flower and a flower is a child. God made flowers the day He gave the world children. To play among flowers, God has implanted in children’s bosoms a natural love of flowers.” – And no one in whose heart this love had completely left the land […]
Craft a Clothespin Cathedral Rocker
Final rocker, painted green. For this Barbie doll furniture craft (11 inch), you’ll need to remove the springs from the wooden clothespins before assembling them into the highlighted design with hot glue. Ensure that the clothespins are clean and free of any residue so that they stick together easily with manual pressure applied. Once the nails are glued into the “cathedral” shaped rocker, allow the glued piece to cure overnight. I understand people use hot glue because they think it hardens instantly but a project like this actually needs time to “set” before it becomes solid. Even hot glue needs […]
